Paraguay: Peasants demand agrarian reform

Demand land reform and condemning the coup Government.
A massive March of Paraguayan peasants and indigenous people demanded a comprehensive agrarian reform once denounced as a coup leader to the current Government.
 

Arrived from different parts of the guarani nation, and grouped in the Coordinator of Paraguay indigenous and peasant organizations, thousands of protesters rejected the criminalization of social struggles by the Government.
 

In this way the Centrals peasant began the announced plans of mobilization on the occasion of the recent official approval of the importation of genetically modified seeds for cotton planting driven by negotiations with the American multinational Monsanto.

Demonstrations will continue in their struggle for a plan of integral agrarian reform and sustainable development for the production of the Paraguayan field.
 

The Coordinator warned that demonstrations will take place in the capital Asuncion and in the remaining departments of Paraguay and upheld the conviction the Government arising from the interruption of the democratic process in the country last June.
