Colombia: Mining destroy its territory

One cause: defend life.
Territory which was already granted for mining operations being requested for that same activity account for around 40 percent of the country.

But also the Colombian Government declared as strategic mining areas two million hectares, in addition to other 17 million in the Amazon also for mining.

Adding everything, 50 per cent of Colombian territory will only serve for the mining activity.
Because of this just made in 15 cities in Colombia the first "national day of mobilization: defend life, we halt the fund1 locomotive".

The day was driven by the Colombian network in front of the great transnational mining, where participating unions, miners, organizations of indigenous people, NGOs, Afro-Colombian, students, among others. The single Confederation of workers, the workers Trade Union and the National Union of workers of the coal industry massively participated.

In this way all the Colombian people is fighting against this "fund1 float" to defend their territories, water, their ways of life and work.

The struggle for water is the point of all those who resist the mining in Colombia. But it is also a struggle on the ground by the territory, for autonomy.
