Minister of Agriculture of El Salvador trying to convince the peasants of the convenience of produce agrofuels
After having been heavily impacted by drought, El Salvador faces the will of its Government to promote agrofuels which deepen the crisis in food production generated by the drought as a result of climate change around the world.

Approve the project of biofuel, submitted to the Executive by the Ministry of economy and the National Energy Council, the result can be the deepening of the crisis.
The "bio" or "agro" fuels are nothing more than fuels produced in the majority of cases with sugar cane, soy, palm oil and corn.
Proven is that, internationally, there are clear Diagnostics indicating the production of agrofuels as a cause of the rise in prices of basic foods.
The cultivation of the sugar cane, in El Salvador, would be the number one choice to supply biofuel production, which would mean deforest the little there exist in vegetation or cultivated land with basic grains or sugar cane change.

The environmental impacts of crops for fuel has been significant in terms of high levels of deforestation and contamination by the use of chemical products.
