México: Chinese risk lives from Nahua community

The Nahua people analyzed the effects of the exploitation of the deposit of iron "El Ratón".
In the nahua region of South Jalisco, the Gan-Bo mining international Chinese company exploits the resources of iron of  the mine , "El Ratón", open pit, very near where live the native, who are engaged in livestock and agriculture.

This poses a direct threat against indigenous peoples. It causes damage to their health, their work and their sources of food and water. For this reason several environmental groups are denouncing the activities of Gan-Bo mining international.

In 2008, Chinese citizen Liantuan Wu, owner of Gan-Bo, illegally exploded a gold and silver deposit in a parcel of property of linen Roblada, also in the area of the nahua, resulting in a conflict with the Indians.

However, it was the direction of the federal economy Ministry mines which has
authorized in 2009 for work of Gan-Bo in 14 thousand 763 hectares.

The Open pit mining is one of the most polluting industries and the greater social impact, using dynamite, cyanide and huge amounts of water.

Therefore most of Nahua that settled in dozens of villages in the area suffer from the ravages of open pit mining exploiting iron for decades.
