El Salvador: Corrupt company start activities

Corrupt authorities and corrupt businessmen.
The transnational Wal-Mart is known as a company that like to invest their money to corrupt public authorities to evade environmental requirements and to obtain favors that will facilitate its commercial activity.

Wal-Mart is the biggest store retail supermarkets worldwide. But while in United States it is being processed because it spent only on Mexico since 2005 at least 24 million dollars in bribes to install its stores more easily, at El Salvador it seems that this does not interest, despite the fact that something identical happened,  even with the collaboration of the technical secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic and the same President Mauricio Funes.

Despite some protests and great efforts from nearby communities to prevent the construction of the store, Wal-Mart tractors deforest and make roads that travel up and down the slopes of the San Salvador volcano and go into the communities of the municipality of Mexicanos.

Despite the fact that this same area was evacuated lately, and in the past suffered landslides by heavy rains that caused mudslides, killing 500 people, all this is not impediment that the authorities of the Ministry of environment of El Salvador and the municipality Mexicanos - freshly borne by sand, the main party of neoliberal right - give the respective permits to Wal-Mart to make it their business.
