Haiti: The threat of tropical storm "Isaac"

Makeshift shelters will very be punished for "Isaac"
"Isaac" tropical storm caused heavy rains in some areas of Puerto Rico, is going through the Caribbean and goes to Dominican Republic and Haiti.

In Haiti, "Isaac" represents a real threat to the thousands of people still living in tents more than two years after the devastating 2010 earthquake. But also the people of the State of Florida, in the South-East of United States, where the storm could pass on Monday 27th trough the coast of the Gulf of Mexico are concerned.

Apparently, "Isaac" is going to remain a tropical storm once it has passed through Dominican Republic and Haiti and when crossing Cuba to go to Florida.

But there are forecasts that suggest that it will reach the Gulf of Mexico, charged into a hurricane force and possibly land near the arm of Florida, Louisiana or Mississippi, Alabama will play next Tuesday.

According to the National Center of hurricanes (NHC) of United States, '' Isaac' probably will strengthen when it passes through Florida and Eastern Gulf of Mexico".

The big problem for Haiti, is that it is prone to flooding and landslides due to deforestation. The rains could cause floods and mudslides which would put lives in danger.

In that country still about 350 thousand people live in tents or makeshift shelters because their homes were destroyed by the earthquake of January 2010. Red Cross workers have warned the population of the arrival of "Isaac" and have recommended that they do not come to the rivers and leave the camps if the storm arrives.
