Chile: Mapuches recover freedom


The Chilean judicial authority was forced to revoke the measure of prison's Eric Montoya and Rodrigo Montoya, two of the Mapuche Indians from Wente Winkul Mapu, who been two months on hunger strike.

The Court now says that there is insufficient evidence in the process against the two young men, however they change the prison by the measure of house arrest.




Meanwhile, research will be held until the trial.

The Mapuche Indians have been indicted by the Prosecutor and the police intelligence by qualified damages possess weapons in the case of Eric and a cartridge of hunting in the case of Rodrigo.

Of the four indigenous young people, who were on hunger strike, only Daniel Lavinao Angol still in  prison. While Paulino Levipan was liberated a week ago by reduction of sentence.
