Cuba: Solidarity of Bolivia
The Bolivian Government sent humanitarian aid to Cuba after the onslaught that suffered the island by Hurricane Sandy. This international solidarity should be interpreted as an exemplary gesture of a nation sister and another example of the growing Latin American unit.
They have been sent about 120 tons of food from La Paz that, according to the Minister of defence of Bolivia, Rubén Saavedra, ".. .it is only a modest reward to the disinterested cooperation offered by Cuba to his country in the areas of health and education".
Similarly, he offered its support of the National Association of parents with students scholarship on the Caribbean island. In a statement sent to the "Government and the Cuban people deeper solidarity in these moments difficult, aware that the tenacity and the spirit of excellence that characterizes them will allow a speedy recovery".
Also the Association, highlighted the deep appreciation to disinterested aid that Cuba has been providing for several years for the progress of Bolivia and their children, through educational programs and health.
Other countries, such as Venezuela, have materialized aid to Cuba, to Haiti, also hit by the hurricane Sandy.
