Peru: Unstoppable land grant

Conga: resistance continues
The Peruvian territory by more than 25% is now to large mining companies, and there is when you are finished that process that is generating too many conflicts.
Today, through six specific cases and of great importance, the business community, which has in the current Peruvian rulers their best allies who granted large tracts of land without the consent of indigenous peoples can be demonstrated.
 
There are cases, just to mention a few, Conga, Espinar, Purus, Cordillera del Cóndor area reserved Gueppi, Ecoamerica. In all these cases, despite the fact that the law of prior consultation, the rulers not conducted any consultation.

The Conga project is perhaps best known for the size of the demonstrations. The Cajamarca people still alert and in resistance to prevent the exploitation of gold and copper project.

In the case of Ecoamerica, the Shawi indigenous people fighting the Korean company Ecoamerica, which three years ago asked the State donation of 72.654 hectares of land in the jungle, of which 21 thousand are territories quechuas and shawis from 2009.

The Purús case has to do with the fight against the project of construction of a road of 400 km. (from the province of Puerto Esperanza, Ucayali, to Iñapari, in Madre de Dios), and which will pass through the Alto Purús National Park and the reserve of the Alto Purús. This project will endanger the survival of peoples in voluntary isolation living in the protected territories.
