As it is a complicated matter, the environmental groups need the help of competent scientists. Professor Frentzel-Beyme has also consulted a citizens movement in Mettingen near Stuttgart / Germany in a case of environmental pollution done by a foundry and referenced this to the Environmental Counsel. His contribution to the environmental counsel is documented under
http://www.umweltratschlag.de/
In the discussions of this forum about the Envio-affair due to the very moving contributions from interested Envio workers he was not present. Even if Professor Frentzel-Beyme had taken part in it, this would be no reason to discredit him academically, but even more of a profit, if scientists can take the direct experiences of those affected workers directly for information.
Would Professor Frentzel-Beyme released as a reviewer because of these facts, this would be a serious threat to the whole environmental movement in Germany, because every scientist would have to fear to discrimination only because of an advisory role for an environmental initiative. That would be totally unacceptable for us and would be the reason to give this message to all potentially affected citizens' groups and environmentalists. We also will not accept as an internationally recognized Environmental Counsel, that the activity of scientists on this forum (next to Professor Frentzel-Beyme many prominent scientists have been participants of the counsel) is legitimating to discriminate them.
